Addicted to Words

Hi, my name is Nicole. I’m addicted to words.

I love books. Books, by the way, are words print on paper. I have many, many books. In my definition, books are not on plasma screens. I don’t own an e-reader and I have no plans to own one anytime soon. But that’s probably just me.

I also love writing. I haven’t really been published anywhere but my often ill-fated attempts at blogging on my own regularly. I intend to change that. I will blog more regularly and I will get published. That is me.

This blog will be all about my adventures with words – my own or someone else’s. I’ll tell you what I’m reading and why you should or shouldn’t read it too. I’ll post updates, that scant few people will probably want to read, about my adventures in writing something that someone else might one day read…and even blog about.

So, thank you for joining me in my adventures with words. Feel free to share your own.

The smell of books means safety, escape, relaxation, and home to me. I know people who won’t read books with yellowed pages because they smell. I say, “pass them to me!”

Thank you very much for that! Seriously. I’m still floored that people even read my blog so to be nominated for something for it is … amazing. Thank you!

Regarding the Dreyfus Affair, its definitive account by lawyer and member of the Académie Française Jean-Denis Bredin, has been reissued as an eBook by Plunkett Lake Press and George Braziller: http://plunkettlakepress.com/ta.html

Thank you for that. I didn’t know of that and I’ll definitely look into it.

Thanks so very much for the kind comment, agreeing with me about the printed page, and (most of all, maybe) for recommending/nominating my blog for the Liebster Award! So sweet of you and such a lovely surprise! Thank you, all around!

I agree with you. Books should be read on paper not plastic screens. It’s one of the reasons I do not like to move because then the movers have a hard time carrying all of my things to the truck. You follow my sites as well! I found some really good books I want to read thanks to your site!

I noticed you are a writer as well. What sort of things do you write?
