The thing about Ransom Riggs’ HOLLOW CITY, the second book in the Miss Peregrine series, is that I wanted to read it when I finished MISS PEREGRINE’S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN but then, by the time I got to read it, I wasn’t sure I remembered enough about who was who and what was what. It’s a testament to Riggs’ writing that I wasn’t at all lost or confused when I started HOLLOW CITY.
I remembered where I left Jacob, Emma, Enoch, Horace, Hugh, Olive, Bronwyn, Fiona, and Claire. It didn’t take me long to remember what their peculiarities were or how they were using them to save Miss Peregrine.
Jacob and Emma are the main characters in the story but I think I love the supporting cast more. Maybe it’s because the people who support the love story are more interesting the people in the love story.
And that’s why I want to read whatever comes next in the story. I don’t want to be done here. I want to know more about them all and the larger peculiar world!
