Yes, you read that right. I have finished Mockingjay already. How could I not? I tried desperately to ration the book out and make it last longer. It didn’t work. Not a bit.
In terms of the three books in the series, this one is my second favorite. Some parts moved a little too slowly for my taste and, maybe more shallowly, I missed Peeta.
The one thing I absolutely loved was the ending. And I’d been warned that some people didn’t like the ending for one reason or another. I thought it was perfect, in that it wasn’t perfect at all. This story, these characters are not perfect. They’ve done things that they aren’t proud of and things that they’d rather have not done. Those things, the things they did simply to survive, will haunt them for the rest of their lives, just as they would any normal person.
The ending is real, in all it’s grittiness.
I’m going to read this series many more times, I know that already.
