Adventures With Words

In which much reading and writing is meant to be done…

Writing Entry #2: Writer’s Block

I chose Writer’s Block as a title for this post because I have it.

The story I was working on when I started this blog as slowed to something slower than a crawl. At first, I had nothing. Nothing whatsoever that interested me to write. My general rule of thumb is that if what I’m writing bores me, I really shouldn’t be writing it. Happily, and warily, things have moved on a little and I outlined the next part. It seems fairly interesting, so we’ll see where it goes.

But that brings me back to writer’s block.

Have you had it?

How do you work through it? Any fail-safe, fantastic tips you’d like to share with me and the occasional other person who reads this?

I’ll thank you in advance.

About Me

An English diarist and naval administrator. I served as administrator of the Royal Navy and Member of Parliament. I had no maritime experience, but I rose to be the Chief Secretary to the Admiralty under both King Charles II and King James II through patronage, diligence, and my talent for administration.
